I may have gone a bit overboard at the farmers market. But when presented with a rainbow of heirloom tomatoes and perfect aubergine eggplants, I just can’t say no. If I were to say that Halloween is my favorite holiday, that would be the understatement of the century. I love everything about it, the movies, the costumes, the baking, the parties.. I just can’t wait to decorate and it helps if I can stay within my budget (much easier said than done). Most store bought Halloween wreaths can be anywhere from 50 to 200 dollars. I made this wreath for under 15 dollars! Let me show ya how. I know it’s only September and I’m a wee bit early for Halloween but I just couldn’t help myself.

I’m still trying to fill my apartment and I needed some inspiration. I tend to lean towards mid-century items and bright colors. Etsy is great for finding furniture and smaller pieces. There are a lot of folks who have expertise in refinishing beat up items. Usually I try my best to keep the vintage stuff unchanged. There’s charm in the scuffs and scrapes and it adds character but sometimes you need to learn when to say goodbye to the old and hello to the new. Even though I will probably never be able to afford some of the things I find, it’s always still fun to look! These are some of the things I’m drooling over..

It’s that time of year again. The beginning of the school year, and once again I’m looking for a quick and easy breakfast that will power me through the morning. I wake up ridiculously early to get to my school on time. So, if breakfast isn’t grab and go, it doesn’t get eaten…and I become a slave to the teachers lounge vending machine, and nothing good comes from there.
